  • Can you believe it....back again for second day this week!

I am doing laundry at my son's house. I put too much soap suds, so I am now banned from using the washer. I have to let them put the clothes in and start the machine....I don't know how that happened....sigh.

They are fostering a dog this week...he is a cutie. If my landlord let me have dogs, this one would be mine. He is about 10 or 12 pounds...long legged, brown...with a cute face and a sweet personality. But, he will go back in a couple of days.

Of course I have gotten something that has some vague, but unpleasant symptoms. I have had a flu shot. I am achy, head hurts some, some temp. but not enough to stay in bed....I am feeling every bone and joint in my feet and legs...I am thinking it is my arthritis trying to "activate" I hope it goes away soon. I am working tomorrow for a friend who has bronchitis. I will take some meds to keep me going and hope it goes away soon.

The kids are good, so nothing to report on that front. I am hoping to start typing my next novel in a day or two. I haven't done (written) the last few chapters, but I know how it is going to end. I still haven't done anything about the first one...I guess I will think about it and getting it published soon...or not.

Try to stay warm, dry, and have a little cup of something warm now and again.

  • Friday is a welcome treat of a day

I have another day sitting with Mz Louise.
    We are just hanging out.
I worked a couple of days this week, it was okay. I had some blood work done yesterday and a doppler heart exam.
    It went well.....and was expensive.

My friend, Stacey, is going to John Hopkins in Baltimore sometime this fall. She has a rare form of stomach cancer and no one in this area does work with this kind of cancer. If she can't pull money together to fly, I told her that I would drive her. It is an eight and half hour drive from here, and she will take about a week to get all the tests and such done. Hopefully, they will be able to get her a treatment plan that she and her doctor can do here.

Nothing much is going on here.
Dad will be 93 the first week of November?!

That is about it for today.
    Stay out of trouble...okay, try.

"Th' Frost is on the Punkin" and I am licking it as fast as I can....

Mz Louise and I are watching tv and I am doing this.
I always like to sit with her. She is almost chair bound, but has a great attitude. She is 90 and a retired nurse. I worked with her daughter for years and years, and years......and years.

Ian spent most of the long weekend with me. The other two went to the beach with their aunt and uncle and 2 cousins. Ian (the oldest) and Luka (the youngest) didn't go. Luka is about 5 months old, and Ian had some reports and summaries to do. Ian is definitely one of those kids who can multi-task. He gets into some trouble during reading times at school. It is hard for him to read and stay still. He likes to read, but he can do other things at the same time. I "get it" and let him play games or listen to his music while he reads. Periodically, I make him turn every thing off and tell me about the book. He always knows the story and actually can discuss the story. (Usually his discussions and questions are very insightful) It is a trial in the classroom, I am sure, but it is how his mind works.

Well, I had most of my funds to get a new computer and the brakes on the car demanded to be replaced. Always something. I have been trying to avoid putting anything on credit since my income is fixed, but sometimes you do what you have to do....

Hopefully, I will get to be online more soon.

    So, what are you doing?

  • "It's Raining, It's pouring..."

Not much going on, but we are resting and hanging out. Getting some reading done, going to the Outlet Malls later,
then going back to the place we went yesterday for a couple of items we have decided we want before we go home, then dinner, then back to pack.

We check out early tomorrow and hope to be home mid afternoon. Back to no interenet in the house....sigh.

    Have a great day.

  • "That's what I love about the south"....

I don't know who wrote and performed that song, but it fits.

We are basking in 80+ degrees, with turning autumn leaves. Gotta love it.

I know NONE of my readers are going to put this on Facebook, and no one is going to hunt me down, but a friend and I are enjoying the balmy weather at the beach. Myrtle Beach

One of her patients let her use one of his long weekends at this swanky motel where he has a membership....we are living the life of Riley here on the fourteenth floor. We are making our own daytime meals, but eating out at night. I am in the computer room, enjoying myself. She is going to the pool for awhile. I don't do that pool thing anymore for more than one reason....most notably, one of the meds I take isn't conducive to too much sun exposure.

But it has been nice. We arrived yesterday and will be leaving on Tues. AM.

I needed this break. I haven't been "out of town" since the wedding last May, '08. My brother is living back in town, so he said he would check on Dad. I also gave the nursing facility, brother's phone numbers in case they need to call.......I am so bad....but let's face it. I was due a small vacation. I try to visit Dad at least twice a week, they call me when anything happens, all of it has been on me for years........My turn for a bit of time off.

I have about half enough to get a new computer. I got some Best Buy gift cards for my birthday. I got some cash, too. I want to straight out buy it, without any financing, so I am standing firm on that.
My friend's daughter (the friend with the connection for staying here) works at Best Buy. She will get it for me and use her employee discount. Since I take her to work some times, she said she wanted to do that for me...as a sort of repayment. I guess I can't complain. lol
Maybe I will get back here tomorrow...especially if it rains.
Stay out of trouble...so I can get into it.

I am thinking about riding out to the mailbox in my car....It is a miserable weather day, but no snow, yet. It is about 40 yards or so from the garage to the mailbox...it will be worth the ride, or not...
