  • What a beautiful day!!

We have been experiencing some of those gorgeous days that we have needed for our well-being this past weekend and today. The weather person is predicting a change for tomorrow. I guess it is about time, since November is half over.

On Thursday afternoon, about 4ish, I got a call from the nursing home letting me know my Dad was being sent to the ER in the tiny hospital nearby. I was out and about after working, so I just rode on over. I arrived a little before 5. His breathing was quite labored. After a couple of hours, the doctor said he was developing "walking Pneumonia" and would be given steroids and breathing treatments, but he was really in good shape for someone of his great age. I partly credit the stay in the hospital for the broken leg. He was given and prescribed lots of minerals, vitamins, and other supplements while he was there and is still taking them. The doctor was very impressed and said so. I think it helps that I (and now my brother helps me) go in and out and check on him regularly. It is about an hour's drive from me, so it is not always easy, but then, I hope my son's take a hint from this and visit me when I am old and infirm.

I have been typing on my second full length novel. (No, I haven't even tried to sell them) The first was a young adult mystery, and this one is a sort of 'coming of age' novel. I get a charge by doing the 'Write a Novel in November' program that is run on the internet in November. My dil is thinking she would like to find an agent to help me with getting it marketed. I don't have time to do all that....I just have the words and stories in my head.... Along with everything else that is lurking up there.

I miss talking and chatting with you. I think mostly pleasant thoughts about you often. I had planned to get a computer recently until my car demanded brakes, and that took all my computer fund....sigh. But, I am still working on it.
The library won't let anyone do any kind of social sites and this and Facebook are considered social sites. I understand their problem with it, but it sure cramps my style.

  • Another Sunday and laundry working out

I am waiting for the clothes to finish drying and the son has gone for a run. He did it all last week, including folding. What a great son!!
Dad's leg is doing as well as can be expected. For those of you who missed the info, he broke the rt. leg just below the hip joint. He has been up on it (barely) and is doing physical therapy from the nursing home where he was staying before. We were so glad he was able to go back. He knew the people there and moving would have been so hard on him.

For those of you who have moved, never been the recepient of a Christmas card, just haven't bothered, or think you will try it this year......I need your address for sending you a Christmas card. Hint: Don't expect too many penguins to be out and about the country as much this year. I have found another passion of mine that has Christmas themed cards.....but I still love penguins...lol

The weather is more than gorgeous here for the last week....we deserved it as do you.
I am working tomorrow and Tues. for the same teacher as Friday. The last class gave me a run for my money, but I am going back.....I am too tough to be run off by a bunch of 7th graders...lol

The sinus infection is getting some better, so that is a good thing. I took it all to the doctor on Wednesday....Just as I should have done earlier, but who is counting?

    Have a splendid week.

  • Can you believe it....back again for second day this week!

I am doing laundry at my son's house. I put too much soap suds, so I am now banned from using the washer. I have to let them put the clothes in and start the machine....I don't know how that happened....sigh.

They are fostering a dog this week...he is a cutie. If my landlord let me have dogs, this one would be mine. He is about 10 or 12 pounds...long legged, brown...with a cute face and a sweet personality. But, he will go back in a couple of days.

Of course I have gotten something that has some vague, but unpleasant symptoms. I have had a flu shot. I am achy, head hurts some, some temp. but not enough to stay in bed....I am feeling every bone and joint in my feet and legs...I am thinking it is my arthritis trying to "activate" I hope it goes away soon. I am working tomorrow for a friend who has bronchitis. I will take some meds to keep me going and hope it goes away soon.

The kids are good, so nothing to report on that front. I am hoping to start typing my next novel in a day or two. I haven't done (written) the last few chapters, but I know how it is going to end. I still haven't done anything about the first one...I guess I will think about it and getting it published soon...or not.

Try to stay warm, dry, and have a little cup of something warm now and again.

  • Friday is a welcome treat of a day

I have another day sitting with Mz Louise.
    We are just hanging out.
I worked a couple of days this week, it was okay. I had some blood work done yesterday and a doppler heart exam.
    It went well.....and was expensive.

My friend, Stacey, is going to John Hopkins in Baltimore sometime this fall. She has a rare form of stomach cancer and no one in this area does work with this kind of cancer. If she can't pull money together to fly, I told her that I would drive her. It is an eight and half hour drive from here, and she will take about a week to get all the tests and such done. Hopefully, they will be able to get her a treatment plan that she and her doctor can do here.

Nothing much is going on here.
Dad will be 93 the first week of November?!

That is about it for today.
    Stay out of trouble...okay, try.

I am thinking about riding out to the mailbox in my car....It is a miserable weather day, but no snow, yet. It is about 40 yards or so from the garage to the mailbox...it will be worth the ride, or not...
